Autus is experiencing increasing demand for websites whose content is completely updateable by the client.
We encourage our clients to add to and refresh the content of their websites. This ensures that visitors to the website can expect to see new material when they visit the site - increasing the probability that they will revisit. Refreshed and increased content is also one of the basic criteria used by the search engines in their formula for ranking websites in response to searches. See Search Engine Optimisation.
More clients now wish to manage the content of their websites and until now the solution was far from satisfactory. There are several client update or content management packages available, most of them open source software packages, which designers can integrate into a client's website. From the client perspective there are usually two major problems with these packages:-
They are not easy to use. The client is confronted with a detailed manual (developed by the designer at the client's cost) giving all the instructions for building and updating web pages. In our experience, the client is usually lost at this stage, as they struggle to devote the time required to learn how to become a 'web page editor'.
Where this is not a problem, it will often be because the designer is one of many who still do not use the tagging of the website to talk to the search engines!
We have tried using the free source content management software - and found it to be a terrible customer experience. So our highly skilled software developer build our own CMS.
As a result we have a content management system that a client with nothing more that basic Word skills can use. Using your client friendly admin area you will actually see the website page you are working on as you change text and images.
In one short, relaxed tutorial you will be able to update your website content. To see an example of a website with an Autus Content Management System facility see www.postcti.com.
